The Falconer

Once a upon a time when humans lived with the land and shared it with the animals they knew their place. They knew they were not the fastest nor the strongest. They could not brave the elements like the other beasts and suffered greatly from many things in the envronment. However what they did know was that they had an intellect that was far superior than the other animals. In that they knew which of the beasts were more adept at hunting and learned how to develop a symbotic relationship where all benefited. Never has there been such a union as between the falconer and his falcons. For a man to take a highly refined hunter, as the falcon is, and incline it to serve him and in return for it to be fed and cared for to such an extent that it would rather remain in his service rather than fend for itself is one of the greatest relationships between man and beast that ever was.
