Orange Spring Mound

Most likely Orange Spring Mound is the oddest formation that I have ever seen. This large mound of mineral deposits stands nearly 20 feet tall. The spring cannot be seen from ground level but slowly percolates and water trickles down the sides and forms rippled terraces at its base. Engulfing trees, which are now petrified, as it has grown, it appears to be like a malignant growth eating everything in its path. It brings on an uneasy fascination. It brings wonder and curiosity to the heart while it attempts to understand the bizarre nature that it represents of things in our diverse world. In the end, we can only throw up our hands and chalk it up to the wisdom of the One who made this spring in the first place.
