Trees are an amazing metaphor for the whole of creation. They embody so many aspects of life that volumes can be written about them. The visble portion, its branches, leaves and fruit, mirror the invisible portion of the root system under ground. Both having the trunk in common and the Earth being the diving line. The tree's branches, leaves and fruit is what is of immediate benefit, but without a stong foundation of roots, the tree is useless. A simple metaphor for the measure of Men.
