The Earth is our Mother. It is incumbent on us to take care of our Mother. She feeds us from the grain, fruits and animals that emerge from her womb. We drink water from the streams and lakes that spring forth from her bosoms. We are made from her mud and we shall lie within her after we die and become dust once again. And then, she will testify to what we did to her.
How we raped her of her resources. How we polluted her oceans, rivers, and lakes. How we congested her air with exhaust. She is trembling and shuddering. And she is getting hot under the collar and she is justified in doing so. We should pay heed to what she is telling us now, while we can still do something. After we die, it will be to late, especially if we kill our Mother with us. |
