Oxbow Sunrise

Few things in life can illicit awe like that of Mt. Moran as seen from the Oxbow Bend of the Snake River at sunrise. Standing in the shadow of this monolith brings a sense of humbleness and frailty to the heart. It also brings a calmness and peace that is unlike anything else. Our souls long for what we know will not fail us, for what will always be there. The mountains are just that. Changing so slowly over the millennia that for all intents they are unchanging, apparently impervious to time itself. And in that we find our heart at rest, contented in knowing we can always rely on the mountains.
