Vernal Peace
The California desert is a special place, especially when it blooms. The fragrance of poppies and goldfields fills the air and the wind carries the spicy intoxicating aroma everywhere. And so as I came upon this scene, buffeted by twenty mile an hour winds the luminescent quality of the light took me by surprised. As I kneeled down and sat there for a while just soaking in the moments, a sense of serenity and peace came over me. A seeming paradox before my eyes of young and old, new and weathered, fleeting and never-ending, soft and harsh, all came together removing all worries and cares and for a little while everything in the world was right. How I wish it was always as such.
