Back To Life
Fire. It is both the friend and foe of man in this world. As friend it warms us when we are chilled to the bone. Its warmth keeps us alive. Its heat cooks our food and allows us to flavor our lives with a myriad of delightful aromas as the various edibles stew in it. It powers our machinery and helps us achieve great things in industry. In the wilds, it affords us protection from the savage beast that fears its every flicker, and rightly so. As foe, fire is the epitome of rage, anger, impatience and squalor. Uncontained, fire is a destructive menace that threatens life and property, destroys beauty and tranquility, and ravages everything in its path. Like this, fire is everyone’s enemy. However, as quickly as fire does its damage, the earth is quick to recover. With gentle rains the seeds, which seem to defy fire’s destruction, come back to life and re-color the world and bring the serenity and beauty that was, and still is, there. Unlike fire, which is capricious, the earth is patient, taking things slowly and in the end will always triumph.
